Tonight's Must-See

Tonight on KHNL News 8
Lyle Galdeira takes us to a place where you can enjoy really good food that won't necessarily put a big dent in your pocket. Find out where he takes us in "Cheap Eats," at 5 and 10.
Presidential Debate, 3 p.m., ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, and cable news channels; 8 p.m., PBS. The second debate puts George W. Bush and John Kerry in a different setting. It's an audience forum (at Washington University in St. Louis) with regular people asking the questions. Charles Gibson of "Good Morning, America" moderates. Bill Clinton, a master of regular-guy stuff, easily dominated that situation in a 1992 forum with Bush's father. This time, however, it may be an even matchup because both candidates have performed well under similar circumstances in the past. A KHON-TV panel discussion follows the debate on NBC, and will be re-broadcast at 10 p.m. on PBS.

Of Note

"Bobbie's Girl" (2002), 6 p.m., Lifetime. A couple of middle-aged lesbians (Bernadette Peters, Rachel Ward) operating a pub in Ireland find their lives suddenly complicated by the arrival of one's orphaned nephew.

"Joan of Arcadia," 7 p.m., CBS. Joan picks an odd school location to plant a garden as a lab experiment.

"The Complex: Malibu," 7 p.m., Fox. Here's the finale for this reality show. Four couples are remaining; each will auction the cliffside condo it's been remodeling. The one that gets the highest bid wins.

"8 Simple Rules," 7 p.m., ABC. Cate has accepted the suggestion from the school principal (who is smitten) that she become the school nurse. She soon manages to embarrass Kerry.

"Halloweentown High," 8 and 9:35 p.m., Disney Channel. The first two "Halloweentown" movies have been popular, so here's another. Kimberly J. Brown plays a teen witch with Debbie Reynolds as her grandmother. This time, the girl wants other ghostly sorts to attend regular high school with her.

"Dead Like Me," 7 p.m., Showtime; or "Monk," 10 p.m., USA Network. You may want to try either of these two shows, which tend to be drolly clever. "Monk" is about a detective who is obsessive, compulsive and nervous; "Dead Like Me" has a young woman who uncomfortably snatches other people's souls after her own sudden death at 19.
