Snake caught on Maui golf course

Advertiser Staff

KAHULUI, Maui — A 4-foot snake was caught yesterday on a golf course in Makena, Maui.

The 8-pound snake, believed to be a ball python, was taken alive to the state Department of Agriculture baseyard in Kahului, said Deborah Ward, spokeswoman for the state Department of Natural Resources.

It is expected to be sent to Honolulu today, she said.

Ward said a Makena Golf Course pro-shop employee spotted the snake andÊimmediately called police, who notified wildlife officials.
