By Mike Gordon
Advertiser Staff Writer

For the second time in two weeks, a Hawai'i soldier has died while supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom, the Department of Defense said today.

Pvt. 2nd Class Jeungjin Na Kim, 23, of Honolulu, was killed Wednesday when his patrol was attacked by small-arms fire in Ar Ramadi, Iraq.

Kim was assigned to the Army's 2nd Battalion, 17th Field Artillery, 2nd Infantry Division from Camp Hovey, South Korea.

Kim had been in Iraq since early August.

On Sept. 29, Pfc. Joshua K. "Buzz" Titcomb, 20, who grew up in Wai'anae, was wounded in Ar Ramadi. He died the next day.

He, too, was assigned to a unit in South Korea.

Titcomb was a member of the 2nd Battalion, 72nd Armor Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, headquartered at Camp Casey, South Korea.

Eleven soldiers from the 25th Infantry Division (Light) from Schofield Barracks have also died this year while serving in Iraq or Afghanistan.
