Stabbing victim's attacker sought

Police are looking for an assailant who stabbed a 36-year-old man early today during an altercation at a nightclub on Dillingham Boulevard.

Police said the stabbing victim got into a fight with the man at the C'est La Vie nightclub, 1007 Dillingham Blvd., about 3 a.m., during which the man told the victim he was going to kill him.

The man pulled a knife and slashed the victim before running away, police said

The man who was stabbed was taken to The Queen's Medical Center where he was treated and released.

Police classified the case as an attempted murder.


Graffiti vandalism suspect arrested

A Kalihi man was arrested today on suspicion of criminal property damage after police caught him about 1:10 a.m. painting graffiti on a wall on the mauka side of the H-1 Freeway near The Queen's Medical Center.

The man, 24, was charged with second-degree criminal property damage, which indicates the amount of damage done was estimated to cost more than $1,500 to repair, police said.


Man, 30, accused of attacking girl

Police arrested a 30-year-old Wai'anae man on suspicion of third-degree sexual assault and kidnapping after a 13-year-old girl reported that she was attacked early yesterday at a housing complex on Ala Hema Street.

The girl told police she was at a party with friends when the man grabbed her by the neck and dragged her through the housing complex while fondling her.

Police who were called to the scene found the man and arrested him. The girl was treated at the Wai'anae Coast Comprehensive Health Center.


Torch used in robbery attempt

Police arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of first-degree robbery Saturday night after two clerks at a Kalihi convenience store told police the man tried to rob them with a propane torch.

The clerks told police the man entered the Chevron store, at 909 Waiakamilo St., about 10 p.m., ignited the torch and began demanding money.

The robber ran from the store when a customer pulled in to buy gas, police said.

Officers found a suspect in his car a short distance from the store. The two cashiers identified the man and he was arrested.
