Ice sent to Big Isle leads to 4 arrests

HILO, Hawai'i Big Island police have announced that four men were arrested in connection with a parcel sent from California containing more than 3 pounds of crystal methamphetamine.
Three men at a Waiakea Uka residence were arrested Sept. 11 after they tried to discard the parcel in their back yard, police said. William Clifford, 25, of Kaumana, and Sloan Paglinawan, 25, of Keaukaha, are being held on O'ahu facing federal drug charges. The third suspect, a 32-year-old Kaumana man, was released.
Federal agents identified the alleged sender of the parcel, and on Sept. 21 arrested Scott William Stadnisky, 29, of Milpitas, Calif.
As part of the investigation, police seized a 2002 Cadillac Escalade and a custom motorcycle with a combined value of $50,000.
Participating in the case were the East Hawai'i Vice Section and Ice Task Force, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and state narcotics officers.
