ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
Tune in to live radio broadcasts

Advertiser Staff and News Services

Remember when you could listen to live Hawaiian music on the radio?

That tradition returns when The Brothers Cazimero — Robert, left, and Roland — launch the 2004 Concert in the Courtyard series, from 5:30 to 7 tonight under the fabled beachfront banyan tree at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider hotel. KHUI-FM, at 99.5 on the radio dial, will broadcast the event.

There will also be a global webcast at www.breezeofhawaii.com, with a live video feed from a Moana Surfrider Web cam.

Admission is free. More Hawaiian concerts will be held Nov. 11 and Dec. 9. Call 931-8383.

Get even; swing away at them

If you're anything like us, there probably have been several moments during the presidential campaign during which you've wanted to take a good whack at both George W. Bush and John Kerry. Coming at 'em with a golf club on the campaign trail is not only extremely foolish, but offers that added problem of the Secret Service getting medieval on you.

The remedy? Team Golf's RivalTees offer the three-dimensional copies of Bush's and Kerry's heads on regulation golf tees. Made of molded plastic, the tees will also handle continued bashing by your irons and woods long after the campaign season. Prices range from $4.99 each to $14.99 for sets, available at www.alumnigolf.com.

FINAL WORD

Trey Parker | co-creator of the animated TV show "South Park," talking to the Los Angeles Times about the comedy "Team America: World Police." The R-rated film opens nationwide tomorrow after struggling to avoid an NC-17 rating because of the puppet-sex scenes.

"It's something we all did as kids with Barbie and Ken dolls ... The whole joke of it is that it's just two dolls flopping around on each other. You see the hinges on their legs."
