Die-hard Korean-drama fans raring to visit South Korea

We knew Korean dramas (like "Conditions of Love," pictured) were big, but, really, we had no idea how big until we heard about the 80 hard-core fans on their way to South Korea this week as part of a special K-drama tour package arranged through Korean Air, New Asia Tour and Kobayashi Travel Service.
"They're so excited," Hyun-ja Koga said. "Most of them are first-timers to Korea. Some of them were packed a week early."
'05 rides on display at food, new-products show
Time to tempt your tummy at the 40th Annual Food & New Products Show, where you have a chance to check out 2005 automobiles, crafts and cooking demonstrations. There also will be fun inflatables for keiki.
The show continues from 5 to 10 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. tomorrow and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Blaisdell Arena and Exhibition Hall.

Hyun-ja Koga, a Korean-language instructor from Leeward Community College, is escorting a group of 26 students, ages 30 to 70-plus, to visit KBS and MBC, two of the leading producers of Korean dramas, as well as some of the sites depicted in the shows.
