'Anuenue School won its first-ever volleyball match in the O'ahu Interscholastic Association last night when its boys' varsity team beat Kaiser, 25-18, 25-16.
'Anuenue is a Hawaiian immersion school in Palolo.
"We felt that the boys' team was ready to (win)," said Lapule Schultz, who oversees the 'Anuenue volleyball program. "They had a couple close games against Farrington, Kailua, and Kaimuki recently and it all came together tonight."
The team, made up of eight freshmen and two juniors, finished the season at 1-9.
Note: The ILH announced the following time changes for today's and tomorrow's volleyball matches at Hawai'i Baptist Academy.
