Advertiser Staff

'Anuenue School won its first-ever volleyball match in the O'ahu Interscholastic Association last night when its boys' varsity team beat Kaiser, 25-18, 25-16.

'Anuenue is a Hawaiian immersion school in Palolo.

"We felt that the boys' team was ready to (win)," said Lapule Schultz, who oversees the 'Anuenue volleyball program. "They had a couple close games against Farrington, Kailua, and Kaimuki recently and it all came together tonight."

The team, made up of eight freshmen and two juniors, finished the season at 1-9.

Note: The ILH announced the following time changes for today's and tomorrow's volleyball matches at Hawai'i Baptist Academy. The varsity boys match between HBA and Maryknoll will start at 6:30 p.m., with the girls varsity match to follow at 8. Tomorrow's boys HBA-Kamehameha match will start at 4:30 p.m., with the girls to follow at 6:30. The changes were made to alleviate traffic near the HBA campus.
