A Big Island motorcyclist died yesterday of injuries he received during a collision in Hakalau.

Police said Wayne V. Ortiz, 53, of Papa'ikou was traveling south on his Harley Davidson motorcycle on Hawai'i Belt Road near the Hakalau overpass when a Toyota van traveling north on the same road turned left onto Old Mamalahoa highway into the path of Ortiz.
