Alicia Arnott's breakout match Saturday at SMU earned the Hawai'i sophomore Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors yesterday.
Last week, Arnott averaged 6.14 kills and 3.71 digs in matches at Louisiana Tech and SMU. The Mustangs couldn't stop her offensively or defensively, as she hit .463 and collected 19 digs.
The last 'Bow to get 30 kills and hit over .450 was Olympian and three-time All-American Teee Williams, in 1989.
Hawai'i remained third in yesterday's USA Today/CSTV Coaches Top 25 Poll, behind Washington and Minnesota. The Huskies collected 63 first-place votes, with UH getting the remaining two.
Rice, which plays at the Stan Sheriff Center on Thursday, remained 26th, with 78 points.
Arnott, a left-side hitter out of La Pietra, dropped 30 kills on the Mustangs in Dallas. Her career high lifted third-ranked Hawai'i (16-0) to a four-game volleyball victory and kept the Rainbow Wahine unbeaten.
