Big Island group names chairman

Warren H.W. Lee, longtime president of Hawai'i Electric Light Company, has been named the new chairman of the Hawai'i Island Economic Development Board.
Lee has served as vice chair for the past year, and has been with the organization since 1991. Lee succeeds Roberta F. Chu. Chu will remain on the board of directors as immediate past chair.
Hawai'i Island Economic Development Board is a non-profit corporation organized in 1984 with a mission of furthering balanced economic development and job creation on the Big Island.
Hawai'i is the most popular fall destination for Japanese weddings, said Japan's largest travel agency, JTB Corp.
More than half of all Japanese overseas weddings between October and December are booked to Hawai'i, according to JTB's Autumn Honeymoon and Wedding Season survey.
