Navy suspects man in burglaryA man who surrendered to police Sunday morning after the public was asked to help find him has been turned over to the Naval Criminal Investigative Service as a suspect in a Sept. 19 burglary of a home in a military housing area of Salt Lake.
Richard Pauline, 34, was wanted by police on contempt of court warrants and a probation revocation.
Police said Pauline also was wanted for questioning about a series of burglaries, including one at a home on Peltier Avenue.
In that case, a burglar entered the home between 2 and 7 a.m. and removed items from the home while the occupants were sleeping.
Police said Pauline was identified as a suspect in the burglary based on a fingerprint that was recovered from a louver at the home.
Charges against Pauline by the NCIS were pending this morning, police said. If charged, the matter would be turned over to the U.S. attorney's office in Honolulu to prosecute.
Domestic dispute leads to an arrest
A 44-year-old man who got into a traffic altercation yesterday with his former girlfriend was arrested on suspicion of several felony charges.
Officers from the Kalihi substation were responding to a harassment complaint filed by the woman, who told them her ex-boyfriend was driving a van and harassing her as she drove her car.
Police said the van driver eventually crashed into the car but left before officers arrived.
The former boyfriend and the van he was driving were found at his home, and a routine check showed the van had been reported stolen, police said.
The van driver was arrested on suspicion of car theft, harassment, leaving the scene of an accident, detaining stolen property and reckless endangering.

Fishermen died by drowning
Two fisherman whose bodies were found floating off Kewalo Basin Friday morning drowned, according to the city medical examiner's office.
Police and fire officials said they believe Roy Okamoto, 54, and Mark Cameron, 44, were tossed into the ocean after Okamoto's 13-foot boat capsized.
The skiff was pulled ashore by rescue workers at Ala Moana Beach Park, in front of the tennis courts, about an hour after the bodies were discovered by surfers.
