Coast Guard looks for missing men

Coast Guard crews searched off the Wai'anae Coast last night for two Navy men in a 21-foot Bayliner boat who were reported overdue.

The Coast Guard had received a mayday distress signal yesterday that had little information and began a helicopter search at 12:16 p.m., officials said.

Later in the day, the Coast Guard received a report that two sailors who had left from Hickam Air Force Base in the morning aboard their Bayliner had not returned.

Coast Guard crews planned to search through the night using two boats and a helicopter.
