Pedestrian injured on S. Vineyard

Advertiser Staff

A 53-year-old pedestrian was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition early yesterday morning after he was struck on South Vineyard Boulevard while walking outside the crosswalk.

The accident involving the Honolulu pedestrian and a 1994 Ford Thunderbird driven by a 34-year-old Palolo man occurred at 12:42 a.m., 63 feet east of Punchbowl Street, Honolulu police said yesterday.

The pedestrian was crossing South Vineyard from the south side of the street to the north when he was hit, traffic investigators said. Speed and alcohol were not factors in the accident, they said.
