ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
'King of Cocktails' tends bar

Advertiser Staff and News Services

Bon Appetit's "Beverage Professional of the Year," a consultant who has been named the "King of Cocktails," will be tending bar at the Halekulani's Lewers Lounge from 8 to 10 tonight and Friday.

Dale DeGroff, the hotel's new beverage director (when he is in residence, several times a year) has plans for revamping the bar, giving it a hipper but still luxurious spin. He's giving training sessions for the staff, focusing on different types of liquor and how to create both classic and signature drinks. No cover; valet parking available.

The reality of NBC's "Hawaii" cancellation should hit even the most diehard fans from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today — the hours of the show's wardrobe sale at the "Hawaii" production studio, 2833 Pa'a Street building.

Parking is available at the Moanalua Gardens, with shuttles running regularly to the studio.

This is your chance to buy the clothes Eric Balfour, Sharif Atkins, Michael Biehn, Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa and rest of the cast and extras wore on TV. If you're looking for props from the show, stay tuned. That sale, we're told, is coming soon.
