Chang sets record -- for interceptions

Advertiser Staff

University of Hawai'i quarterback Tim Chang failed to break an NCAA career passing yardage record in a 69-3 loss at Boise State Saturday.

Chang, who entered the game needing 241 yards to break Ty Detmer's record of 15,031 career passing yards, passed for 227 yards. He was intercepted four times, setting a dubious record for most interceptions in a career. Chang has thrown 74 career interceptions, surpassing the previous record of 73, set by Purdue's Mark Herrmann.

Chang can break the yardage record at home next week against Louisiana Tech Nov. 6 at Aloha Stadium.
