Tonight on KHNL News 8

Warrior quarterback Timmy Chang is poised to break the NCAA record for career passing yards today against Boise State. Join Reid Shimizu for complete coverage at 5, 6 and 10.
"Total Recall" 8:35 p.m., TBS. The movie was shot in 1990 — long before the term "Total Recall" introduced itself as a major headache in the world of politics and long before Arnold Schwarzenegger became California's governor. The film never caught on like his "Predator" and "Terminator" flicks, but it's still fun. Schwarzenegger plays a man obsessed with Mars. He dreams about it, wants to move there, loves the chocolate bar — you get the picture. Based on the Philip K. Dick novel "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale" (other movies based on his writings include "Blade Runner," "Minority Report" and, most recently, "Paycheck"), this is a crash 'em, smash 'em extravaganza that possesses everything you'd expect from an Arnie film (including some of his most memorable one-liners). It won the special achievement award for visual effects at the 1991 Oscars.

Of Note

"Joan of Arcadia," 7 p.m., CBS. Joan's scheme causes problems for a church clothing drive.

"What I Like About you," 7 p.m., WB. Holly wants to turn Gary's girlfriend into a pop star. That should be easy, because she's played by Tamyra Gray, the "American Idol" star.

"8 Simple Rules," 7 p.m., ABC. Leadership weighs on Bridget (Kaley Cuoco). She's running a dance while worrying about Pete, who's smitten with her.

"Complete Savages," 7:30 p.m., ABC. The boys try to come up with the ultimate Halloween stunt.

"Hope & Faith," 8 p.m., ABC. Carol Kane plays a nasty neighbor who invites the sisters to a Halloween party.

"Third Watch," 8 p.m., NBC. Last week's episode ended on an overwrought note. A serial killer (Chris Elliott) stormed into the precinct station and dared police to find a teenager who was slowly dying. To add to the yuck factor, viewers got a final image of her, with her blood being drained. Tonight, police search desperately.

"Medical Investigation," 9 p.m., NBC. When a bride-to-be becomes seriously ill at her shower, officials fear an anthrax outbreak could terrorize Philadelphia.
