Tesoro sues for unpaid gas bills

Tesoro Petroleum Corp. yesterday filed a suit against Diamond Head Petroleum Inc. seeking $596,975.94 in unpaid gasoline bills. Diamond Head Petroleum is closing its Honolulu-based gasoline distribution business.
Diamond Head Petroleum's attorney, Marc Rousseau, said he could not comment.
Workers' compensation costs in Hawai'i could fall after the state Insurance Division approved a filing by the National Council on Compensation Insurance for an average 3 percent drop in "loss costs."
The loss costs are claims insurers paid, which comprise a part of the calculation for premiums. The NCCI makes a filing for workers' compensation insurers in the state. Insurers can choose to accept it or not, but most do. That doesn't mean each business will see a decline, since insurers also take into account a company's history of claims and its industry.
