Dish's proceeds to go to breast-cancer group

Kai Okonomi Cuisine, a 4-month-old restaurant at 1427 Makaloa St. near Ala Moana Center, will donate all proceeds from sales of its most popular dish to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation now through Oct. 24, the date of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

The Japanese restaurant chain specializes in offbeat teppan-yaki cuisine, and its signature dish is Renkon Cheese Yaki, right, — lotus root grilled with cheese ($8.50). Owner Isamu Kubota is decorating each plate of Renkon Cheese Yaki with a pink ribbon to call attention to the foundation.
