The O'ahu chapter of the State of Hawai'i Organization of Police Officers has endorsed Keith Kaneshiro for city prosecutor, Kaneshiro's campaign organization said.

The O'ahu chapter's board of directors voted unanimously to recommend former city prosecutor Kaneshiro, and the statewide SHOPO ratified the endorsement, Kaneshiro's organization said.

Kaneshiro, a two-term prosecutor, is challenging his successor, Peter Carlisle, the two-term incumbent.

They are running for the four-year term in a winner-take-all primary election on Sept. 18 because they are the only two candidates.
