Event emphasizes track racing

The Sports Car Club of America Hawai'i Region's "Keep the Kids off the Streets Race Day" is scheduled for Monday at Hawai'i Raceway Park.

The event features 130 mph formula/open wheel, sports car and sedan racing. There also will be drifters and regular street cars at the track, which will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tickets available at Speedgear Ala Moana and Eurosport.

The event, a benefit for the Red Cross of Hawai'i and Hawai'i Family Support Institute, emphasizes safe racing on a track and not on streets. For information, call Ed at 488-1782.



Motocross on Kaua'i

The Kaua'i Motocross Riders Association will hold its 50th annual Labor Day races tomorrow and Sunday at the Wailua Motocross Track.

Rider check-in for the all-day event starts at 6:45 a.m. each day. There is a $5 entry fee. An awards banquet follows the Sunday races.
