Rainbow Wahine top USC in soccer

The University of Hawai'i women's soccer team won its second consecutive game on the road and this time took down an opponent from the always-tough Pacific-10 conference.
Freshman Gabrielle Bohlman's second-half goal lifted Hawai'i to a 2-1 victory over Southern California at McAlister Field in Los Angeles yesterday.
The Rainbow Wahine improved to 2-1-1. Southern Cal, which played its season home opener, is 1-2.
Bohlman beat Southern Cal goalie Julie Peterson in front off a pass from the right side by Kalena Eaton in the 47th minute.
Bohlman, of San Anselmo, Calif., scored her first goal as a Rainbow Wahine in a 2-1 overtime victory at UC Santa Barbara on Wednesday.
Natasha Kai, a junior from Kahuku, scored UH's first goal yesterday in the 13th minute on a Trojan turnover. Kai buried her second goal of the season from 20 yards out into the lower right corner.
Hawai'i, of the Western Athletic Conference, kept Southern Cal scoreless until the final minute of the first half.
USC sophomore Jocelyn Hein headed the tying goal off a cross from the right side by senior Ashley Casas.
Hawai'i goalkeeper Mahie Atay finished with seven saves, including five in the second half.
The Rainbow Wahine complete their first road trip of the season with a game against Loyola Marymount tomorrow.
They return to host the Outrigger Hotels & Resorts Soccer Classic, Sept. 10 to 13 at Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Stadium.
