Gary and Darlene Nojima of Kailua have announced the engagement of their daughter, Darnelle Nojima, to Craig Chung, son of Robert and Jan Chung of Honolulu. They plan to marry on Dec. 4 in Honolulu.

Thomas Alan Rivera of Pearl City celebrated his first birthday on May 29 at a Pagoda Hotel luncheon hosted by his grandparents, Hilario V. and Veronica C. Rivera; his parents, Albert C. and Joanne K. Rivera; and brother, Eric M. Rivera. Thomas was born May 21, 2003.
