The threat of Hurricane Frances did not affect the play of the Florida Atlantic players, according to coach Howard Schnellenberger.

"It had no bearing at all," he said. "We gave them one day to get their things taken care of around the house."

Schnellenberger said he checked before the team left the hotel for last night's game and found that "except for some rain, it was going to be OK.

"There's nothing we can do, we have to take care of our business and then we can deal with it."

Sophomore tight end Anthony Crissinger-Hill, who scored the touchdown that sent the game into overtime, didn't heed his coach's warning.

"I'm from Wisconsin, I don't even know what a hurricane is," Crissinger-Hill said. "I didn't even board up my windows."

Schnellenberger said the team might not return to Florida, but instead head straight to Texas, the site of its next game against North Texas.

"We're trying to see what is best for us now," he said. "We'll see in the morning."

Elimimian's efforts could not rescue UH

Hawai'i senior cornerback Abraham Elimimian intercepted two passes in the first half and finished with five tackles. He also broke up two passes.

"Abraham made big plays," Hawai'i coach June Jones said. "He gave us everything he had."

Chang countdown: QB now 1,916 from mark

Hawai'i quarterback Tim Chang, who is being touted by UH as a Heisman Trophy candidate, passed for 302 yards. It was the 28th game of his career with 300 or more passing yards.

Chang is now 1,916 yards away from breaking the NCAA record for passing yards in a career. Former Brigham Young quarterback Ty Detmer holds the record of 15,031.
