Political debates offered on TV

Tonight marks the first of 40 live one-hour political debates, moderated by Robert Rees, to be shown on 'Olelo Community Television's Channel 54. They will be shown every weeknight at 6:30 p.m.

Tonight's participants are Democratic Party chair Brickwood Galuteria, Green Party spokesman Bob Jacobson, Libertarian Party chair Tracy Ryan and Republican Party chair Brennon Morioka.


Candidates take part in forum

A candidates forum will be held during the Aliamanu/Salt Lake/Foster Village Neighborhood Board meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Aliamanu Middle School cafeteria, 3271 Salt Lake Blvd.

Rep. Glenn Wakai and Bradley K. Duncan, candidates for State Representative District 31 (Salt Lake, Tripler), and City Council District 7 (Aliamanu, Airport, Kalihi) candidates Romy Cachola and Rocky Ricarte will take part in the forum.

At about 8 p.m., the candidates will make opening remarks, followed by a question-and-answer period.

The board has been sponsoring a candidates forum for more than 10 years.


Council hopefuls at Kalihi Valley

City Council District 7 candidates Romy Cachola and Rocky Ricarte will take part in a question-and-answer forum at the beginning of the Kalihi Valley Neighborhood Board meeting at 7 p.m. tomorrow at Kalihi Valley District Park, 1911 Kamehameha IV Road.

Each candidate will have four minutes for an opening statement and will then be asked five questions submitted by the audience and randomly selected by the board chairman.
