A suspected car thief was arrested today after a police officer caught him sleeping in a car at about 1 a.m. on Hanaloa Street in 'Ewa Beach.

The officer was responding to a suspicious-vehicle call when he drove up to the car and found it parked with the motor running.

The officer ran a vehicle check, found that the car had been reported stolen and arrested the 24-year-old man who was sleeping inside.

The suspect also was booked on suspicion of drug and drug-paraphernalia charges.

Makakilo man a threats suspect

A 21-year-old Makakilo man was arrested on suspicion of terroristic threatening and multiple misdemeanors after an incident at the Kapolei Shopping Center last night.

Police said the man was drinking at a bar in the shopping center at about 9:30 p.m. when he grabbed a waitress and threatened to kill both her and the establishment's manager.

Police were called, and the man took his drink and left before they arrived. He was found nearby and was arrested on the threatening charge as well as on two counts of harassment and one count of drinking in public.
