Santa Clara junior setter Kristen Luxton, who was born and raised in Hawai'i, is returning home to play her first volleyball match since she left as a Maryknoll junior.

KRISTEN LUXTON

Santa Clara is playing in the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Volleyball Challenge this weekend, hosted by the University of Hawai'i.

"I've grown up watching people play in the Stan Sheriff and it's really exciting to come and play in front of my home family and crowd," said Luxton, who has played in all 13 games and leads the team with 97 assists.

Her family, including sister Michelle, who is a senior on Punahou's volleyball team, remained in Hawai'i, but Luxton left in the middle of her prep junior year "to get more exposure."
