• "Cellular": Kim Basinger is kidnapped and held in an attic; her child and husband are threatened. The phone in the attic is shattered, but as a science teacher she knows enough to piece it together. She dials at random, and gets a 20-something kid (Chris Evans) who at first thinks it's a gag. • "The Mother": A long-married couple visits their children in London. He dies, she stays in London and, to her astonishment, begins an affair with a carpenter half her age, who is her daughter's lover and her son's best friend. Opens tomorrow at Varsity Twin. (R)

• "Now That I Have You": Opens tomorrow at Maui Mall Megaplex Cinemas (Maui).

• "Resident Evil: Apocalypse": Based on the popular video game, this sequel to the 2002 horror film finds military agent Alice (Milla Jovovich) up against zombies.
