Yes, those are all among the major issues as the Sept. 18 primary election approaches. But what of the other hot topics of the day from the world of sports that voters won't have an opportunity to address at the ballot box?
If you're looking for somewhere sports fans can go to make their voices heard, you have come to the right place.
Here are a few of the issues that you won't find on the ballot this year but that probably should be put up for a vote.
PRIMARY BALLOT
Proposition A: Shall the state be required to reduce the incessant blare of commercials over the public address system and scoreboard during all future University of Hawai'i football games?

Proposition B: In the public interest, should the Federal Communications Commission say, "enough, already, you guys!" and declare a moratorium on any more June Jones vs. Joe Moore radio shout-downs?

Proposition C: Shall that goal post net at Aloha Stadium be permitted to look like a giant hamburger wrapper?

Proposition D: Should UH be prohibited from playing non-Division I-A opponents in future contests in all sports?

Proposition E: Should gymnast Paul Hamm have given Yang Tae Young the gold medal?

Proposition F: Should schools be forced to wait until at least the end of September before declaring a player to be a "Heisman Trophy candidate"?

Proposition G: Shall the state direct that UH share in some of the revenue the school generates at Aloha Stadium?

Proposition H: After the U.S. men's basketball team's showing in the Athens Olympics shall the name "Dream Team" be officially retired along with the original members who comprised it?
