GARDEN EVENTS

Foster Botanical Garden seeks volunteer docents for an eight-week training course. Classes, which will cover the history of the garden, documentation of plants, significant plants and trees, are offered each Tuesday, 1-2:30 p.m. Sept. 28 through Nov. 16. A fee of $15 for the training will be refunded after 25 volunteer hours doing tours for students and special interest groups. Call to enroll: 522-7064.

Ho'oulu Hou: Growing Plants and Trees for Hula Lei, workshop and demonstration on growing lei plants in the home garden, with presentations by Marie McDonald, Brian Choy and The Advertiser's garden columnist, Heidi Bornhorst, 8 a.m.-noon tomorrow, Windward Community College; $10.
