McKenna Motors Hawai'i is realigning its Kailua new-car dealerships since the elimination of its Volkswagen franchise on Aug. 31.
Bruce Asato The Honolulu Advertiser Mark Caliri, president of Windward Ford and Windward Mazda, said McKenna Motors plans to renovate and expand the former Hummer dealership building to concentrate the two brands in one area.
"We're going to concentrate our efforts on Ford and Mazda," he said.
McKenna gave back its VW franchise to the manufacturer, which still has two other dealers on O'ahu, and had earlier sold the Hummer dealership to Schuman Carriage.
McKenna's used-car lot nearby will remain, as will the company's service operation on Hamakua Drive.
Caliri said the company has not yet decided what to do with its leased Mazda site it is leaving, and is considering options including turning the site into a used-car lot.
