Aloha Airlines CEO stepping down

Advertiser Staff

Glenn Zander will step down next month as president and chief executive officer of Aloha Airgroup Inc., the parent company of Aloha Airlines, the company announced today.

Zander will assume the new position of vice chairman of the board of the privately-held company, Aloha Airgroup Chairman Han "Sonny" Ching said.

Zander told the board he was stepping down to spend more time with his wife Gayle, who is undergoing treatment for cancer on the East Coast.

A search is underway to find Zander's replacement, Ching said. In the interim, Brenda Cutwright, Aloha's executive vice president and chief operating officer, has been named acting president and CEO.

Zander, with 35 years of experience in the airline industry, joined Aloha in May, 1994, after serving as co-chief executive of Trans World Airlines. Since then, Aloha's revenues have doubled to nearly $500 million annually.
