Service set for Marika, fire victim
Funeral services for 12-year-old Marika Akesa Melelina Quirit, who died in a house fire Aug. 29, will be Sunday at Parker United Methodist Church on Waikalua Road in Kane'ohe. 
 Marika was a student at Kane'ohe Elementary School last year and was to have been a seventh-grader at King Intermediate this year.
 She is survived by her father, Fuavasa; mother, Brenda; brother, Fuavasa "Vasa" Jr.; grandmothers, Akesa Mauga and Marilyn Huihui; grandfathers, Abel Huihui and Luis Quirit; uncles, Louis Jr., Tema Quirit, Matt Mauga, Abel Jr., and John Huihui; aunts, Francesca Mafua, Annie Edwards, Debbie Moyle, Diana Sherwood, and Linda Huihui. 
 Visitation is set for 1 p.m.; the service at 3 p.m. Sunday at Parker United Methodist Church. 
	
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, although investigators believe it was started by an electrical problem at the Quirit's home.
