• Verizon Foundation scholars: Shannon Chung of Kane'ohe, a Kalani High School graduate majoring in business at Linfield College in Oregon; and Janette Gerolaga of 'Ewa Beach, a Campbell High School graduate pursuing pre-medicine at the University of Hawai'i.

• Junior Achievement Scholars: Office Depot and We the Women awards to Beth Yamashiro of Hilo High; NFL Pro Bowl award to Robert Manoski, a senior at Kohala High; a Sales & Marketing Executives of Honolulu award to Cassandra McGraw of Kea'au High.

• Kelly Kanayama of Honolulu has accepted membership in The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She is attending Washington University in St. Louis.

• Prescilla Gines, a Sacred Hearts Academy graduate, received a USA Funds scholarship. She is a chemistry major at the University of San Francisco.

• Alexander & Baldwin Inc. academic scholarships to Maui High School graduates Sara Moore of Kula, Maui; and Mark Pacubas of Kihei, Maui. Moore will major in biochemical engineering at Texas A&M University, and Pacubas will major in electrical engineering at California Polytechnic Institute.
