HOLES IN ONE
First ace at ripe old age of 7

Advertiser Staff

Donny Hopoi shot his first hole in one at age 7.

Donny Hopoi
May 25
Honolulu Country Club
Hole No. 13, 144 yards, 3-wood

On May 25, I was on the back nine at Honolulu Country Club with my dad, Andy.

At the 13th hole I pulled out my 3-wood and set up straight for the flag.

It was 144 yards to the green. I swung the club and I saw the ball land on the top of the hill.

Dad said he saw the flag move a bit after my turn. When I got to the green I couldn't find my ball so we looked in the hole and there was my ball.

I ended up shooting a 43 on the back nine, though there was some disappointment, because shooting 40 was the goal.

(Hopoi made his ace when he was 7. He is now 8 years old.)
