Wahine defeat UC-Irvine

Susie Boogaard had 21 kills as the undefeated University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team beat previously undefeated UC-Irvine 30-27, 28-30, 30-28, 30-17 tonight.

The Rainbow Wahine, ranked seventh in the USA Today/CSTV Top 25 Coaches Poll, improved to 8-0, while the Anteaters fell to 7-1.

Alicia Arnott had 19 kills and three of Hawai'i's service aces, while Victoria Prince added 12 kills and Juliana Sanders had 10.

Kelly Wing led unranked UC-Irvine with 22 kills, while teammate Sami Cash added 13.

The match was played as part of the round-robin Waikiki Beach Marriott Invitational.
