Highway lanes to close temporarily

The state Department of Transportation is warning motorists of a number of highway lane closings next week. All the closures are for tomorrow through Friday, unless otherwise noted.

• Kamehameha Highway. Single-lane closures in both directions between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. near Arizona Street and Arizona Memorial Place for traffic-signal work.

• Ala Moana. One eastbound lane closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Pi'ikoi Street and Atkinson Drive for traffic-signal work.

•¨H-1 Freeway near Makakilo Interchange. Lane and shoulder closures in both directions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for shoulder work and repaving. Also, the Makakilo on-ramp is closed from 9 a.m. to 6 pm. on Friday and from 7 a.m to 6 p.m. Saturday for paving and guardrail work.

• Makakilo Drive. Closed in the Kapolei-bound direction between Farrington Highway and the Makakilo Bridge overpass from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday for paving work.

• Nimitz Highway. Lanes in both directions closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. between Sumner and Queen streets for installation of new ramps, driveways and sidewalks.

• H-3 Freeway. One Honolulu-bound lane closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. one mile south of Halawa Tunnel.
