Advertiser Staff and News Services
ARTafterDARK returns to the Honolulu Academy of Arts tonight, and if you haven't been to one yet, consider it one of the coolest venues for young professionals to enjoy. "Tiki Night," from 5 to 9 p.m., not only gives you a chance to wander through the galleries, but there is also a 7:30 p.m. showing of Elvis Presley's "Blue Hawaii" at the Doris Duke Theatre. Admission is $7 general, free for museum members. The film is another $3. Check it out at www.artafterdark.org. Fitness maven Lokelani McMichael, a Kailua, Kona, resident who has finished eight Ironman Triathlons, graces the cover of the October Runners World magazine. This is the second cover on the fitness publication for McMichael.
In an article entitled "Iron Maiden," she offers tips on how to sustain and navigate the triathlon.
Her first Runners World cover was in March 2001.
Chris Kentis | "Open Water" filmmaker on what it was like swimming with sharks during the filming of his low-budget film that has grossed more than $24 million so far:
"I never felt like I was in danger, but at times I was like a rag doll with sharks just pounding into me, the water teeming with 40 of them."
