Japanese visitor dies snorkeling

HILO, Hawai'i — A 60-year-old tourist from Japan apparently drowned Thursday while snorkeling in He'eia Bay in Keauhou, North Kona.

Teoruo Isobe of Kanagawa Kane was found face-down at about 1:20 p.m. Firefighters gave him cardiopulmonary resuscitation and took him to Kona Community Hospital, where he died early yesterday. An autopsy is scheduled.
