Incident on bus leads to an arrest

A 49-year-old man was arrested about 7:15 p.m. Saturday in Waikiki on suspicion of interfering with the operation of a transit vehicle following an incident aboard a city bus.

The bus driver, 40, told police the man spit at him and threatened to harm him after he told the man to get off his bus.

Interfering with a transit operation is a felony.



Makiki woman reports attack

A 20-year-old Makiki woman told police that she awoke about 3:30 a.m. Saturday to discover that she was being sexually assaulted by a stranger.

Police classified the case as first-degree sexual assault but said they had no suspects as of this morning.



Man suspected of store break-in

A 44-year-old man is facing second-degree burglary charges after police arrested him about 4:30 a.m. near the McCully Bike Shop on South King Street.

An anonymous caller told police a burglary was in progress and provided a description of a man who was seen carrying a bag as he left a restaurant near the bike store.

Responding police stopped to question the man, who ran away but was caught moments later and arrested on suspicion of burglary.



Arrest follows firearm report

A 52-year-old man was arrested about 12:10 a.m. Saturday after a 20-year-old man told police the older man pointed a gun at him at a Waikiki nightclub.

The man who reported the incident said he was arguing with the other man, who pulled out a black handgun and pointed at him.

Police were called and arrested the man with the gun on suspicion of terroristic threatening and failure to properly store a firearm.
