Business leaders still optimistic

Confidence among local business owners remains near record highs, according to the the August Bank of Hawaii Business Confidence Survey.
Of the 372 respondents, 60.6 percent said they expected somewhat or much higher performance for the Hawai'i economy during the next 12 months, and 58 percent held the same view for their companies' sales. Just 9 percent of the respondents said they expected lower performance for the economy, while 11.6 percent said they expected lower sales.
