Motorcycle crash victim identified

Advertiser Staff

The city Department of the Medical Examiner has identified Bobby Edwards as the man who was killed Wednesday when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a utility pole near Waialua.

Police said Edwards was traveling north on Kaukonahua Road when the motorcycle veered off the road at about 4:35 p.m. and struck a pole about a mile south of Farrington Highway. Edwards was taken to Wahiawa General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at about 6 p.m.

Police said Edwards was wearing a helmet and speed appeared to be a factor. It was the 19th traffic fatality on O'ahu this year.
