Citizen soldiers recognized for Iraq job well done

Brig Gen John Y.H. Ma presents Lt. Col. Jonathan Wung, commander of the 411th Engineer Battalion, with a Bronze Star, one of 11 awarded to members of Wung's unit during a welcome home ceremony at Schofield Barracks, where the Army Reservists are undergoing de-mobilization processing after their recent return from Iraq. Ma heads the US Army Reserve in Hawai'i.


Army Reservist Spc. Marcos Carino Jr., of Waipahu, acknowledges the cheers from fellow members of the 411th Engineer Battalion as he mounts the stage at the Sgt. E.R. Smith Theater at Schofield Barracks to be recognized for his recent service in Iraq. Carino and 625 of his fellow citizen soldiers took a break from demobilization processing at Schofield for a welcome home ceremony that included the awarding of 11 Bronze Stars, speeches, and individual recognition for each of the battalion's soldiers.
