Higa helps Damien surprise Mid-Pacific

Kai Higa had two hits and an RBI as Damien defeated defending Interscholastic League of Honolulu champion Mid-Pacific, 5-4, yesterday at Aloha Stadium.
Chris Stephenson and Robert Cuizon each drove in a run for the Monarchs (1-5), who surged to a 5-1 lead and held off the Owls for their first win of the season.
Jayson Kramer and Nathan Rice each had two hits and one RBI for Mid-Pacific.

Campbell's Tristan Bailey allowed two hits and struck out eight in seven innings before being replaced.
Uyechi, who batted 2 for 3, led off the eighth with a double. After the Sabers filled the bases with two more walks, Uyechi scored on the third walk of the inning.

Wai'anae 1, Campbell 0: Clayton Uyechi pitched a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts and scored in the bottom of the eighth to win it for the Seariders in an O'ahu Interscholastic Association game at Wai'anae.
