ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
Mourning the pope

Advertiser Staff and News Services

People continue to mourn John Paul II, the third-longest-reigning pope in history. There are several ways to get wishes to the Vatican:
  • The Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace downtown will have a guest book available after Masses through Sunday.
  • Send an e-mail with thoughts to john_paul_II@vatican.va, which papal aides have been retrieving.
  • Affordable Casket & Moanalua Mortuary is having a slideshow of the pope and will offer mourners a chance to sign guest books for two weeks. The books will then be sent to the Vatican; 833-8811.

You can also share your condolences and memories on our tribute page.

Second dose of 'Lost' tonight promises heavy drama

Praise the French lady! A second consecutive brand-new episode of "Lost" is on tonight. Will Boone die? Is Claire's baby going to be born with two heads? Is Charlie going to lose himself in the music, the moment or that monkey on his back when he eventually finds the downed Beechcraft? And never mind what's glowing in the still impenetrable iron lung that's left Locke freaky — where's Michael's little firestarter been lately? At 7 p.m. on ABC.

FINAL WORD

Kim Basinger | on using boxing to get over Alec Baldwin, via the New York Post:

"There's no better way to get that man out of your life. Forget lifting weights, forget workouts. Boxing gets rid of aggression. After a good session with a punching bag, I realized I'm tough."
