ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
Cinema is smorgasbord at tonight's film festival finale

Advertiser Staff and News Services

The Korean film "A Moment To Remember" screens tonight as HIFF's Spring Showcase finishes up.

It's the last night of the Honolulu International Film Festival Spring Showcase. So the question is simple: Are you in the mood for Indian ("Veer-Zaara"), South Korean ("A Moment To Remember"), French ("Après Vous") or Chinese ("Throw Down") tonight?

Screen times are 6, 6:30, 9:15 and 9:30 p.m., respectively, at Dole Cannery Stadium 18. Film summaries may be found at www.hiff.org. Purchase tickets at the theaters: $9 ($8 for children, military, students, seniors; $7 for HIFF Ohana members).

And quiet in the top row, yo.

Removing deodorant stains

It's really annoying when you are all dressed to go out and suddenly realize you have deodorant smudges on your clothing. A solution: Gal Pal. It's quick, easy, reusable and costs $10 for two sponges that will last about two years.

Take Gal Pal and wipe gently with the grain of the fabric, rubbing off the deodorant. If it doesn't come off completely, dampen the second Gal Pal with water, squeeze out the excess and rub gently again. Gal Pal is available at Shasa Emporium in Kahala Mall, Global Village in Kailua, Eden in Kailua, Kona on the Big Island and Epitome in Lahaina, Maui.

Farrah Fawcett

FINAL WORD

Bill Goodykoontz | of the Arizona Republic, on the new reality series following '70s star Farrah Fawcett:

"Early on in 'Chasing Farrah,' a TV Land reality show in which cameras, sigh, follow '70s icon Farrah Fawcett around, one of her toadies says not to make it like 'The Anna Nicole Show.' She doesn't. It's not that good. And that's saying something."
