A bluesy kind of night

The Hawaiian Islands Rhythm and Blues Blowout features the talents of Norton Buffalo and the Knockouts, along with E.C. Scott, right, and Smoke. Buffalo's harmonica and Scott's vocals will make for a one-two blues combo. Doors open 7 p.m. 21 and older.

Bradley brings the laughs

The Laugh Factory presents stand-up comedian Butch Bradley, a founding member of Boston improv troupe The ID. Bradley has performed at The Improv, The Comedy Store, The Comedy Connection and Comic Strip NYC and has been featured on Comedy Central, "The Late, Late Show with Craig Kilborn" and VH1's "The List."

Jazz trumpeted

Renowned trumpeter Toru "Tiger" Okoshi is the special guest at a night of big-band jazz with the University of Hawai'i-Manoa Jazz Ensemble. Patrick Hennessey directs. The concert helps finance the ensemble's upcoming trip to the Mainland for the Greater St. Louis Jazz Festival.

Just super in Kaimuki

Sacred Hearts students — from left, Jeanessa Slaughter, Marissa Chang, ReiMalyssa Slaughter, Juliana Ho and Stefannye Slaughter — show off their paint-on tattoos, created by Cary Chinn (back), an airbrush tattoo artist who will take part in this weekend's Superfair at the school.
It's a grand affair in Kaimuki when Sacred Hearts Academy features Superfair 2005, themed "The Best of Hawaii." The fun includes rides, games of skill, a country store, plants, food, a dunking booth, keiki ID, face-painting, white elephant sale and silent auction.

Reggae's Dezarie at Don Ho's

Hear roots empress Dezarie roar, as the Jamaican native continues her Tribute to the Lioness tour through the Islands. The reggae star performs along with Ikahba and band (including members of Midnite), Sahra Indio, Mama T. and Queen Paula with the One Love Ohana Band. Doors open at 9 p.m.

Beaux Arts Trio spotlighted

As the finale to its 50th season, the Honolulu Chamber music series presents the Beaux Arts Trio, which is also celebrating its golden anniversary. The program for the trio — Daniel Hope (violin), Menahem Pressler (piano) and Antonio Meneses (cello) — includes works by Beethoven and Dvorak.
