Woods' victory means return trip to Po'ipu

Associated Press

PO'IPU BEACH, Kaua'i — Tiger Woods automatically qualified to play in the exclusive PGA Grand Slam of Golf tournament on Kaua'i with his thrilling Masters win yesterday.

Woods hasn't qualified for the major winners-only event since winning the U.S. Open in 2002. Woods first played the Grand Slam in 1997 and won a record five straight starting in 1998.

The remaining three Grand Slam invitations will go to the winners of the final three majors of the year: U.S. Open, British Open and PGA Championship.

The 36-hole Grand Slam will be played at the Po'ipu Bay Golf Course on Nov. 22-23.
