Starwood adding timeshare units on Maui

Starwood Vacation Ownership will add more than 400 new timeshare units on Maui as part of its continued expansion throughout North America, Hawai'i and the Caribbean.

Starwood Vacation Ownership, a division of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., today said 177 new units at the Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas will be completed by May and that it will build a 258-unit property next-door.

Starwood also said it is in the pre-development phase of a new vacation ownership resort in Princeville, Kaua'i.



Hawai'i gasoline prices reach another record high

The average price for regular gasoline on O'ahu rose to a record $2.411, according to today's AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report.

The rising prices helped push the statewide average up slightly to $2.506 a gallon, also a new high.

In Wailuku, Maui, regular gas averaged $2.729 a gallon. In Hilo on the Big Island, it averaged $2.491 a gallon.
