It started April 7 and will only get worse — or better — depending on your view of Harry Potter hype.

Thursday marked the "100 Day Countdown" to the July 16 release of the book "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince."

If you lose track, go to www.scholastic.com/harrypotter and download the 100 days-to-Harry Potter-countdown clock and get daily Harry Potter facts, an on-screen calendar and Harry Potter Web alerts.

If that's not magical enough for you, you also can cast your vote for "Who Will Be the Half-Blood Prince?" on the Shrieking Shack poll.

'Sahara' debuts at No. 1

Matthew McConaughey's "Sahara" heated up the weekend box office, debuting at the top with $18.5 million. "Fever Pitch," the Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon baseball romance film, opened in third place with a so-so $13 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. "Sin City" slipped to second place with $14.1 million, lifting its 10-day total to $50.7 million. In limited release, "Kung Fu Hustle," shown at last week's spring HIFF, opened with $293,025 in seven theaters, averaging a whopping $41,861 per cinema.

FINAL WORD

Sandra Bullock | in the April issue of In Style magazine.

"I find things sexier when they're less obvious, but I wouldn't say I'm wholesome. I like pretty raunchy humor. I like to push it. And when I laugh, it's like a horse coming out of my mouth."
